The purpose of Shawnee Country Open Space Association (SCOSA) is as follows:

• To safeguard the character of our community and maintain our rights as property owners
• To preserve the natural terrain, trees, foliage and other ecological characteristics of the land
• To promote the welfare of the members of the Association on the problems of housing, transportation, sanitation, taxation, building restrictions, streets, schools, and all other matters of public interest
• To generally to promote and advance welfare of the membership
